Akira April 29, 2012 at 8:46 pm: I have been trying to deicde what type of professional knives I should purchase (I have a strange need to buy the best of everything whenever I find something I enjoy doing I’ve been looking at mostly a global set).

I purchased the Rada Paring Knife solely because of its price, and for it to tie me over until I figure out what type of knives I prefer. I have only had it for a few days but I’m already impressed with how well it cuts. The knife itself has a really sharp blade, I barely had to place any pressure for it to cut through some asparagus. It was able to cut paper-thin slices of tomatoes, also without much effort. It even cut my lip before I knew what happened(there was some goat cheese on the knife.. and well I couldn’t help it).

It’s super lightweight which makes it easy for me to handle (no pun intended).

The only thing I dislike about it is the texture on the handle. While it makes for a good grip, it feels strange to touch. It’s almost like a chalkboard texture, kind of gritty. That shouldn’t bother most, I’m just a bit hypersensitive.
